“Basketball Wives” Season 6 may be all about the drama but cast member Evelyn Lozada has insisted that despite what others may say, her act of kindness towards Jackie Christie’s grandson was genuine and not malicious.

On Sunday, the reality star shared a video of herself on Instagram featuring her appearance on the daytime talk show “The Real.” In the video, guest host and “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Joseline Hernandez asks Evelyn if she donated money to help out Jackie’s grandson for publicity or if it was out of the kindness of her heart.

Evelyn explained that she instantly connected with the photo of the injured child and felt she had to help him.

“He [Jackie’s grandson] was burned at a daycare and for me, I couldn’t help but connect that with my son. TMZ reached out, I didn’t say anything, I didn’t comment on Twitter, I didn’t comment on Instagram, I just donated the money and that’s all it was for me.”

“So for anyone to think I’m going to use this incident to try to get fame and who are you it’s not like I donated money to Beyonce’s child or something...nobody really cares but the picture speaks for itself. I don’t know what human being wouldn’t be moved by that photo that was shown,” she said.

This question concerning Evelyn’s motives comes after months of rumors and recent episodes of “Basketball Wives” Season 6 in which cast member Tami Roman has accused the reality star of not donating the money from her heart and instead using the donation to stir up media attention.

The drama started when Jackie’s estranged daughter Ta’Kari Lee created a Go Fund Me Page after her son was burned at his daycare. T’Kari was asking for $3,500 to pay for medical expenses and Evelyn donated the entire amount, however, this did not sit well with Jackie, who accused the reality star of “throwing shade.”

Although Jackie was upset about the donation, Ta’Kari explained that she doesn’t have a relationship with her mother and was confident that her mother would not have given her the money if she asked.

“They should have made her tell the story of my son's accident. Oops! she doesn’t know because to this day she hasn’t asked #basketballwives,” Ta’Kari tweeted on April 18, the night of the “Basketball Wives” Season 6 premiere.

Ta’Kari went on to reveal that her mother didn’t find out about her injured son or Evelyn’s donation until a month after when her “informant” told her. Although it is unclear who Ta’Kari was speaking about, on the reality series, it seemed as if Tami had a lot to do with shaping how Jackie interpreted Evelyn’s donation.

Since the series returned, Tami has been telling Jackie that Evelyn may have only donated money to get attention from the media which Jackie initially believed but from the looks of the last episode, it seems like Jackie has formed her own opinion may no longer be bothered by Evelyn’s random act of kindness.
