• French astrologer Nostradamus predicted a "great war," speculated to be a possible World War III, will happen next year
  • The philosopher believes the conflict may last between 25 to 29 years, according to a Nostradamus specialist
  • Nostradamus also allegedly predicted that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be assassinated

French astrologer Nostradamus allegedly predicted that a major world conflict will happen and that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be assassinated in 2023, according to reports.

Nostradamus, whose real name is Michel de Nostredame, claimed over 450 years ago that a "great war" would come in 2023, the Daily Star reported.

"Seven months great war, people dead through evil," the physician wrote in Century IV, quatrain 100 of his 1555 book, "Les Prophéties," which translates into "The Prophecies."

"Rouen, Evreux the King will not fail," he concludes in the stanza.

The lines may allude to a World War III conflict stemming from the troubles in Ukraine arising next year, as per the Daily Star.

The referenced French city of Rouen would be safe in the potential conflict, according to the philosopher's predictions.

Nostradamus specialist Bobby Shailer also believes that a third World War may occur "within the next several years," the Daily Express reported.

"Nostradamus believes it will be a great protracted war, 25 to 29 years, followed by lesser battles," Shailer was quoted as saying in 2021.

Aside from a world war, Nostradamus allegedly predicted that Putin will suffer an assassination attempt next year, claimed.

The website did not explain how it arrived at the prediction, only citing unnamed Nostradamus "experts." None of Nostradamus' works was tied to the supposed prophecy.

Followers of the deceased Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, commonly known as Baba Vanga, had claimed that the Bulgarian mystic predicted Putin would become "lord of the world."

Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24 to "denazify" its neighbor, but the current Ukrainian government is not a fascist dictatorship nor is it in any way associated with the Nazis.

Moreover, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who won 73% of the votes in Ukraine's democratic elections in 2019, is a Jew.

Russia's ongoing invasion has resulted in the deaths of 1,151 civilians in Ukraine, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said in its most recent civilian casualty report.

Additionally, it has caused nearly 3.9 million refugees to flee from Ukraine, according to data provided by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia set for Tuesday could lead to a ceasefire, Reuters reported.

However, Putin does not appear ready to make compromises to end the war, according to U.S. officials.
