Marvel Studios took to Twitter on Wednesday to drop the trailer of their highly anticipated movie, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" featuring not only Doctor Strange but also Evil Doctor Strange and supervillain Baron Mordo.

At the beginning of the trailer, Doctor Strange's sidekick Wong suggests he not cast "that" spell as it is "too dangerous." Wong explains, "We tampered with the stability of spacetime."

Doctor Strange repeats the line from the newly released movie, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and says, "The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little."

The next scene shows the post-credit scene of "Spider-Man" where Baron Mordo says, "Your desecration of reality will not go unpunished," while Doctor Strange steps out of his house and see the entire world is quite literally broken.

However, Doctor Strange is convinced that it was the only way to fix the problem, referring to Spider-Man's problem and adding, "But I never meant for any of this to happen."

The trailer shows many quick scenes including Doctor Strange’s girlfriend getting married, Wong's life in danger, and Doctor Strange falling from somewhere mysterious.

The clip also introduced Wanda Maximoff, who helps Doctor Strange understand the multiverse. Before the Evil Doctor Strange is shown, Doctor Strange could be seen fighting Shuma-Gorath.

"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is slated to release only in theaters on May 6, 2022.

The movie is helmed by director Sam Raimi and it stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Chiwetel Ejiofor will be seen playing Baron Mordo while Elizabeth Olsen will return to reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff.

The first installment of the franchise, "Doctor Strange" was released in 2016. Since then, no individual movie of this character has been released.

Although the character did appear in Marvel movies including "Avengers: Infinity War," "Avengers: Endgame" and the recent release "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" will mark the fifth movie of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Four. After this, Marvel is all set to release, "Thor: Love and Thunder," which is slated to release on July 8, 2022.

Marvel will also release "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" as the last movie of 2022. "The Marvels," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is scheduled for 2023.
