KEY POINTS

  • Dodgers All-Star David Price recently racked up a new home from fellow All-Star and Angels outfielder Justin Upton
  • Price's new $9.5 million abode is situated in Paradise Valley in Arizona
  • Formerly a Boston Red Sox southpaw, Price is currently LA Dodgers' newest pitcher

David Price is not only the Los Angeles Dodgers’ newest pitcher, but he is reportedly also the current homeowner of a lavish Paradise Valley mansion.

Splurging $9.5 million for the property, the baseball star bought the estate from a fellow All-Star, Los Angeles Angels’ outfielder Justin Upton. Upton listed the custom-built desert mansion for a purchasing price of $10.95 million last fall. And apparently, Price was able to score a satisfying bargain.

The sprawling estate was established in 2013 and is overlooking picturesque sceneries of the Mummy Mountain Park. Price’s new abode measures an immense 14,396 square feet, with a futuristic architectural layout and completed with upscaled amenities. The mansion is fully gated and provided with security cameras mounted on both the inside and outside areas.

The mansion has an indoor and outdoor dining area where both spaces spread out in a vast panorama. The massive make-up of these dining spaces is definitely opportune for future gatherings. The chef’s gourmet kitchen is also among the most noteworthy areas of the mansion.

Replete with high-grade appliances such as Wolf and Sub-Zero ovens, a Miele coffee-maker machine, as well as gas and induction stoves, the cooking area has everything one would need. In addition, the baller’s estate also houses a temperature-controlled wine wall, alongside a home theater with a 13-people capacity.

Meanwhile, another highlight of the stately estate is the owner’s luxe suite room. The suite reportedly features floor-to-ceiling retractable glass doors boasting majestic mountain and city views. The two-way fireplace with a fairly large settee adds a more homey feel to the area. The suite room is also favored with a commendatory bathroom completed with a full-size washer, a Kohler Numi toilet and steam shower with multiple jets and shower-heads.

Among the diverse lineup of lavish properties, what makes an athlete’s home distinctive is its sports and fitness center. In the All-Star’s mansion, the sports area is inclusive of a gym, billiards area and a game room with its own golf simulator.

What really sets the indoor fitness space apart though is its mezzanine that opens out into an indoor basketball court with a retractable batting cage. Other amenities also include a full wet bar, mini fridges, a Kegerator and even a private veranda.

Proceeding out back, the house’s enormous backyard is its finest hidden retreat. The courtyard haven features a large covered patio that is also perfect for some alfresco dining, a fenced Olympic-sized heated pool and spa and over 20,000 square feet of artificial turf with a par-3 golf hole.

Price is a professional baseball player and has been officially tapped as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ newest pitcher. The 34-year-old southpaw has bagged first overall during the 2007 Major League Baseball draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. As per CBS sports, Price has also been playing catch and keeping his arm loose despite the MLB's layoff season

According to a report by USA Today in March, Price has reportedly transferred to LA to make his first debut in the Dodgers’ spring-training. The former Boston Red Sox athlete has currently settled in in his new batter box, getting ready for an impending match alongside the Dodgers.
