Donald Trump recently faced backlash for attacking Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker for saying that they lack supplies to combat the deadly coronavirus in their state.

On his Twitter account, the POTUS took offense after Pritzker seemingly blamed the federal government for not helping him and the other governors out.

@ JBPritzker, Governor of Illinois, and a very small group of certain other Governors, together with Fake News @ CNN & Concast (MSDNC), shouldn’t be blaming the Federal Government for their own shortcomings. We are there to back you up should you fail, and always will be! ” Trump tweeted.

While speaking with CNN, Pritzker said that he and the other governors are competing with each other for supplies and personal protection equipment to combat the coronavirus. He also said that these things should’ve been coordinated by the federal government and the National Defense Authorization.

“It’s a Wild West out there. And, indeed, we’re overpaying, I would say, for PPE because of that competition. We need millions of masks and hundreds of thousands of gowns and gloves and the rest. And, unfortunately, we’re getting still just a fraction of that. So, we’re out on the open market competing for these items that we so badly need. And we’re succeeding in some ways, but we still need more,” he said.

Meanwhile, Trump’s critics could no longer take how he’s been attacking those who are complaining about how he’s been handling the crisis.

“If the Governor of Illinois is complaining about shortcoming or lack of help from the federal government, maybe the best thing to do is to pick up the phone, call the governor, and ask what help and assistance he needs to help the people of Illinois. We’re all in this together,” Twitter user @eugenegu said.

“You have sent over 70 tweets this morning. Don’t you have anything better to do than watch cable-Tv and tweet? For the good of the country RESIGN! ” Twitter user @Amy_Siskind said.

“Resign… in disgrace,” Twitter user @JoeMarino2017 said.
