SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has finally met up with the creators of "Rick and Morty," Adult Swim’s cult animated series about an alcoholic scientist’s interdimensional adventures with his grandchildren, Morty and Summer. Musk has long been an admirer of the show.

Writer Mike McMahan and series founders Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland joined Musk at his SpaceX headquarters following several public Twitter exchanges.

Rick (((and Morty))) crew at SpaceX!! Nerd overload ...

“Rick (((and Morty))) crew at SpaceX!!” Musk captioned an Instagram posted Thursday. “Nerd overload.”

The sentiment appeared to be mutual. Roiland, who voices both sociopathic genius Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith on the show, took to Twitter and wrote: “Thank you for being a humble genius, a dreamer, and a beacon of hope for humanity @elonmusk.”

Over on the show’s official Twitter account, the photo was captioned: “Simulation theory confirmed.” The caption appeared to point to Musk’s long-maintained theory that humanity is living in a computer simulation — a concept that was recently debunked by two theoretical physicists.

“Rick and Morty” wrapped its third season in early October. Musk commended the show’s season finale Oct. 5 on Twitter and called it “disgustingly good.”

“Thanks, E. Just riding this out until the singularity hits, you know?” the show’s Twitter account responded.

“The singularity for this level of the simulation is coming soon. I wonder what the levels above us look like,” Musk replied. “Good chance they are less interesting and deeper levels are better. So far, even our primitive sims are often more entertaining than reality itself.”

With witty back-and-forth spanning several tweet exchanges, Musk later added: “We should definitely get a room.”

The show’s account replied: “I’ll call Kurzweil, you call Frey — we can plan the next couple hundred years and get fucked up. Hawking might be down too.”
