Firefighters were trying to put out a fire at the Crivitz Lumber and Rental store on Main Street in Crivitz, Wisconsin, on Tuesday. The Crivitz fire department was assisted by the Stephenson, Wausaukee and Middle Inlet fire departments.

Marinette County dispatchers confirmed firefighters were on the scene of the blaze and were doing their best to bring it under control, Action News 2 reported. According to the National Weather Service, the temperature at the time of the fire was 9 degrees below zero with a wind chill of minus 30. The cold temperature made the firefighting conditions difficult.

The Wisconsin Public Service reported power outages in the village and more than 90 people were without electricity as of 8:27 p.m. local time (9:27 p.m. EST) Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Crivitz Emergency Shelter would be kept open for anyone needing shelter due to the fire. They have also opened a helpline for those who need transport to reach the shelter.

Witnesses shared pictures and videos of the fire on social media, showing the fire shooting through the roof of the building. It was, however, not confirmed if there were any injuries due to the blaze. The cause of the fire was not determined either.

Crivitz Lumber and Rental is a store that sells building materials, supplies, equipment and tools required for construction and DIY projects.

This is a developing story.
