Actress Gal Gadot is under fire after commenting on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Some fans of the “Wonder Woman” actress were left upset after the 36-year-old took to social media to share what appeared to be a message about peace.

On Wednesday, the actress shared a post on Twitter and Instagram sharing her feelings about the increasing violence between Israel and Palestine.

“My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation, our neighbors deserve the same,” she wrote.

“I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.”

Shortly after her post, Gadot’s name became a trending topic on Twitter with fans slamming the actress for what they believe was an insincere post.

“The fact that Gal Gadot couldn’t bring herself to say Palestine or Palestinians once but instead refers to them as neighbours is very telling,” one person wrote.

Another person who revealed they were unhappy with Gadot noted that she served in the Israeli Defense Forces.

“Reminder Gal Gadot served in the IDF for two years where she not only witnessed the ethnic cleansing of Palestine firsthand, but also actively supported it. How can you advocate to stop the vicious cycle of terror when you are standing on the frontlines enabling it #FreePalestine,” the individual wrote.

Tensions between Israel and Palestine have accelerated, most recently with Israel sending an airstrike in response to Palestinian militants in Gaza that fired rockets onto Israelis.

Residents in Gaza City revealed the latest airstrike from Israel hit apartment towers and the Hamas central police headquarters.
