Game of Thrones
A new HBO year-end video shows Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) sporting a new look. HBO

Over the weekend, HBO began airing a year-end montage video of the network's many series from 2014, but the video gave fans a brief sneak peek into their shows airing in 2015 as well. Most titillating of all the shots might be the few clips that appear to be footage from the coming Season 5 of “Game of Thrones" featuring fan-favorite Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).

The tail end of the HBO video gives a 2015 preview of new and returning shows, and the first one featured is “Game of Thrones.” There are shots of four characters in the montage, including Arya Stark (Massie Williams), Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), but a shot of Tyrion Lannister is getting the most attention from fans. The video shows him sporting a new beard and wearing a hood, presumably to disguise himself after breaking out of prison and killing Shae (Sibel Kekilli) and his father, Tywin (Charles Dance).

Readers of George R. R. Martin’s “A Dance of Dragons” know that, in the “Song of Ice and Fire” books, Tyrion flees across the Narrow Sea to the South, where under various aliases he plans to make his way to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). Fans will have to get used to Tyrion's new and scruffy look since he is far removed from the comforts of Lannister money and King’s Landing. Although he did spend most of Season 4 wrongly imprisoned for murder, so undercover fugitive might even be a step up.

Between the HBO montage and a recent teaser video distributed on social media, “Game of Thrones” is tantalizing fans with small tastes of the new episodes. Fans, though, are still waiting for a full-length trailer. Season 5 of the HBO series is set to premiere in the spring of 2015.
