Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) must remain a step ahead of everyone else to carry out her plan on “General Hospital.” ABC/Christopher Willard

Esme returned to Port Charles and wanted to remain off the grid, but on the Wednesday, Oct. 12, episode of "General Hospital," Nikolas may demand Esme do something that could ruin her plans to use her pregnancy as leverage.

In the ABC promo video, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) tells Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) that she has a get-out-of-jail-free card. "GH" spoilers reveal Nikolas gets the upper hand.

In the previous episode, Nikolas was stunned when he found Esme breaking into the safe at Wyndemere, which meant she survived her fall off the parapet.

Although Nikolas planned to call the police, Esme threatened to tell them about how she was pushed off the parapet. Nikolas reminded her that the police would be more concerned about her connection to all of the hook killer's victims.

When Nikolas reached for his phone Esme revealed he wouldn't call the police because she was pregnant with his child and revealed her baby bump.

It appears Nikolas will be shocked by the pregnancy news but will manage to gain his composure to stop Esme from further manipulating the situation.

Will Nikolas demand Esme take a pregnancy test to prove she is carrying his child?

Elsewhere in the ABC promo video, Sonny (Maurice Benard) reveals nothing will change Michael's (Chad Duell) mind. "General Hospital" spoilers reveal Ava (Maura West) counsels Sonny.

In the previous episode, Sonny thought he and Michael were about to mend their relationship when Michael once again lashed out at his father.

Viewers are aware that Michael hired Dex (Evan Hofer) to get a job with Sonny so he could destroy his empire.

Although Sonny wants to repair his relationship with Michael, his latest outburst may cause Sonny to lose hope. It appears Ava will visit Sonny and the two will discuss the fragile situation.

Will Ava advise Sonny to fix his relationship with Michael or give up on his son?

Other "GH" spoilers tease Carly (Laura Wright) makes an impassioned speech to the Jacksonville city council, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) confronts Dex, and Michael and Cameron (William Lipton) are in agreement.

"General Hospital" airs on weekdays at 3 p.m. ET on ABC.
