An Australian family was terrified after they spotted a giant snake in their home backyard. The reptile was later identified as an eastern brown snake.

The family was sitting on their deck when their pet dog started barking and clawing at the timber panels. After discovering the snake lurking in the backyard of the Sydney home, the family called the agency WILD to remove the reptile from their home.

A video that was posted on Facebook showed a snake catcher struggling to catch the reptile.

"The resident spotted some silvery brown scales through the gaps. The snake pushed it's large head against the gaps and tried to get through," snake catcher Kane posted on Facebook page WILD.

"After crawling under the deck and poking and prodding at the weed mat underneath, finally the GIANT serpent shot out. This is one of the most dangerous snakes I have handled. It was big, strong, unruly and dangerously venomous," WILD wrote along with the video.

The video shows the angry snake lunging at the handler several times. The handler was seen running into the backyard before successfully grabbing the snake by the tip of its tail. The video ends with the handler capturing the serpent in a snake tube. It was later released into bush land far away from the home.

Some social media users praised the handler for his bravery and skills with which he managed to remove the snake.

"Bloody nice work mate! That brown was locked and loaded!" one commenter said.

Recently, in another incident, a family was shocked when they stumbled upon a deadly snake blocking the door of their home. The photos of the eastern brown snake was shared online by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7. The snake catchers were called by the Queensland family to remove the reptile. The snake was found lying in front of the sliding door at the house in the Sunshine Coast.

“Imagine walking up to your sliding door to head outside when you stumble across this healthy Eastern Brown Snake,” Snake catcher Stu McKenzie wrote on Facebook. “It was enjoying itself hiding in between the sliding doors. The snake was so thick that it only just fot in there when it was coiled back on itself.”
