CBS’ breakout drama of the fall 2018 TV season, “God Friended Me,” is back with all-new episodes starting Sunday, starting with its Season 2 premiere.

Titled “Joy,” episode 1 of the new season picks up with Cara (Violett Beane) now in Paris, writing a book about Simon (Adam Goldberg) and his friends. Meanwhile, Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) is still back in New York City, trying to uncover the truth about the God Account while helping newcomer Joy (Jessica Lu) as she starts on the same journey Miles was on last season.

“Miles tries to help the God Account’s new friend, Joy, figure out what the account wants from her after she receives her first friend suggestion since getting Miles’ name – a soldier on leave in New York,” the Season 2 premiere synopsis shares. “Also, Simon helps Cara reconnect with an important person from her past while she’s in Paris.”

Beane teased to PopCulture.com that when Cara runs into someone from her past, they help her see that perhaps writing the book about Simon isn’t “totally why she’s in Paris, and… [it’s] not exactly what she’s meant to do there.”
