Chances are huge that the Joker (Cameron Monaghan) will escape from Arkham Asylum in “Gotham” Season 4 and come face-to-face again with Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz). Fox

The Joker (Cameron Monaghan) already died in “Gotham,” but he was resurrected by his faithful followers in Season 3. Before he can cause any more trouble, however, his shenanigans were put to an abrupt stop after he kidnapped Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and was captured by the cops.

For Season 4, will the villain make another huge comeback? As far as executive producer John Stephens is concerned, he definitely will, given his current place of confinement.

“What I will say about Jerome is that Jerome is in Arkham right now, and when you think about Arkham’s record of keeping people locked up, we will probably see him again before the end of the year,” he told Cinema Blend.

“Gotham” fans would actually love to see more of the Joker, but the show isn’t going to make it happen. Drew Powell, who used to play Butch Gillian in the series, has a good explanation why. Powell said the Joker is a lone wolf who refuses to team up with anybody else. Should he become a main player, all the other villains would be forced to fade in the background.

“I feel like Jerome is a solo artist. He’s not one to team up with anyone. Early on he had his Maniax, but I think the evolution of that character is he’s a unique psychopath/sociopath, both. So I don’t see any teaming up with Jerome,” he told Cinema Blend. “And that’s part of the deal with him which was interesting; how they kind of had a Jerome section in the middle of our season. And part of that is the actor has another job, and the other part is that character is intense. 22 episodes is a lot of TV... So those characters that are super intense... you can’t use them all the time or it stresses people out. So yeah, I think when Jerome comes, it’s all about Jerome.”

For Season 4, Powell will most likely transition into the zombie named Solomon Grundy, while the show plans to re-introduce the Scarecrow, also known as Jonathan Crane (Charlie Tahan).

“Gotham” Season 4 will premiere on FOX on Sept. 28.
