"Horizon Zero Dawn" developer Guerrilla Games could be working on a follow-up to the open-world action adventure title in the near future.

Though the company hasn't announced anything directly, eagle-eyed viewers at GamesRadar spotted something that may very well be indicative that a sequel has commenced: a new job listing. The jobs page at the official Guerrilla Games site has been updated with a new opening for a Technical Vegetation Artist.

"Within Guerrilla, we have four teams dedicated to creating the stunning environments of 'Horizon.' One team focuses on the creation of lush and stunning vegetation," the listing reads. While it doesn't mention a new "Horizon Zero Dawn," it's easy to ascertain what this opening is getting at. It's probable that, with the launch of the PlayStation 5 by holidays season next year we'll begin seeing and hearing more about this next entry, and see what happened to Aloy and her people as the years have passed by.

The original "Horizon Zero Dawn" first debuted on PlayStation 4 in early 2017. It quickly became a PlayStation mainstay thanks to protagonist Aloy's intriguing story as well as a world crafted around an apocalyptic change involving robotic creatures. Getting to the core of Aloy's upbringing was an interesting proposition, as was trying to figure out what, in the first place, caused the world to splinter into multiple tribes who openly fight against machines.

When "Horizon Zero Dawn" debuted, it was visually arresting and breathtaking, and earned every bit of the subsequent praise it garnered from critics. However, Guerrilla Games has yet to officially speak on what a sequel might entail, or what a potential timeline looks like for one. It's possible a new entry in the franchise might mean saying hello to a new character (or a few) here and there, and continued expansion of a pre-established world.

What does Guerrilla Games envision for the future of "Horizon Zero Dawn?" It isn't clear just yet, but fans can rest assured that at least something is in the mix at present, even if it isn't quite obvious what that is just yet.
