"Be Kind" singer Halsey has hailed Alanis Morissette's influence in their music, saying the latter inspired them to create the "best f--k you" songs.

"[She taught me] my whole life how to write the best 'f--k you' songs of all time," the 28-year-old singer said during the "We Can Survive" concert at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on the night of Oct. 22, Page Six reported.

"I think without her 'f–k you' songs, I probably would not have written what was the biggest song of my career so far," they added before singing their 2018 hit "Without Me," which they described as "very Alanis-esque."

"Without Me" was released following Halsey's breakup with rapper G-Eazy, with whom they collaborated for the 2017 track "Him & I." The pair dated for over a year before splitting in 2018 amid allegations that the rapper dated other women while they were in a relationship.

"Without Me," which topped Billboard Hot 100 in 2019, includes the lyrics: "You know I'm the one who put you up there Name in the sky / Does it ever get lonely?"

Following the angst-filled song, Halsey penned other similarly themed tracks, such as "You Should Be Sad," "Nightmare" and "Killing Boys." They also collaborated with Morissette, 48, for the track "Alanis' Interlude," which was released as part of their album, "Manic," in 2020.

The pair performed the track live during Morissette's headlining set at the same concert. Hosted by Audacy, the ninth annual "We Can Survive" concert was formed in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to raise mental health awareness and suicide prevention through music. Aside from Halsey and Morissette, the night's performers also included Weezer, One Republic, Garbage and Tate McRae.

Meanwhile, Halsey's new live radio show, "Halsey: For The Record," premiered on Oct. 17 on Amazon's new Amp radio app.

Aside from music, the singer, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 17, will be talking about their interest in cooking, politics and other interesting topics. The show will have various guests, including Nine Inch Nails and Dido.

Asked about the people they want to bring on board their radio show, Halsey told Forbes, "Some of my favorite conversations throughout my career have been with psychotherapists or with filmmakers. I think it'd be really interesting to bring people on, I guess, who intersect the gap between content and culture."
