One of Netflix’s most-popular shows “Patriot Act With Hasan Minhaj” has been extended for seven episodes, which adds to the show’s initial order of 32 episodes.

According to Deadline, the show hosted by stand-up comedian Minhaj will be coming out with new episodes on the streaming-service starting on Sunday, March 29. The final seven episodes will conclude the first season of the show that first aired in 2018.

The official Twitter handle of the show confirmed the news by sharing a video of Minhaj’s father letting the fans know that the new episodes are coming while Minhaj’s voice can be heard from behind the camera.

“Hello everyone, this is Hasan’s dad. I just want to let you know that the new episodes of the ‘Patriot Act’ on Netflix are starting on Sunday, March 29,” Minhaj’s dad said.

The show has been highly-successful for Minhaj as well as Netflix. It received the Entertainment Award at the 2019’s Peabody Awards and won an Emmy for Oustanding Motion Design in the same year. The show got so successful that Minhaj was included on the list of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People last year.

The Volume One of the hit TV show has a perfect score of 100% on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Minhaj has previously worked as a correspondent for talk-show host Jon Stewart and departed the “Daily Show” in 2015. He has a long history of sharply poking fun at Trump, like most of his contemporaries. Despite being so popular, the show has been a creator of many controversies.

In March 2019, the comedian was widely criticized by the supporters of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) because of his take on the elections that took place later that year. Minhaj had to face a lot of backlash from social media as well as Indian media.

Apart from that, the streaming giant was forced to pull out an episode from the show that showed Minhaj criticizing Saudi Arabia’s kingdom for covering up the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Netflix had to remove the episode after receiving a complaint from the Saudi government claiming that the particular episode violated anti-cybercrime rules.

At the time, the comedian lashed out at the Saudi government and shared his views on the same on social media.

On his show, Minhaj tackles problems like student debt in America, the “Me Too” movement in China, corruption in Indian Cricket, and many more things that create an impact on people’s lives.
