Queen Elizabeth II has snubbed Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Charles and Prince Andrew by turning down their different requests.

The Queen is the head of the monarchy and those below her always submit to her. Her Majesty has a good sense of humor, but she’s not the type who can easily be subdued by the other members of the royal family. Here are the times when the Queen rejected the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of York.

Prince Charles

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not supportive of Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. As a result, the Prince of Wales had a hard time introducing Camilla to the public even after Princess Diana’s death.

One time, Prince Charles approached the Queen because he could no longer take her cold treatment to his lady love. He requested that the Queen should end her antagonism to the Duchess of Cornwall and give him her blessing, so they could take their romance out in the public.

However, according to Tom Bower in his book “Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles,” the Queen, who had drunk several martinis, did not give in to the heir apparent’s request and vented out her anger calling Camilla “wicked woman” before adding “I want nothing to do with her.”

Prince Harry and Markle

“The couple are understood to have set their hearts at first on Windsor Castle, and are believed to have asked the Queen if living quarters could be made available after their marriage,” royal expert Roya Nikkhah said.

Apparently, the Queen didn’t give the couple their request but offered them Frogmore Cottage instead. This isn’t the first time she snubbed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Her Majesty also vetoed the couple’s wish to have an autonomous household.

Prince Andrew

Many believed that Prince Andrew is the Queen’s favorite son. However, the Duke of York didn’t escape his royal mom’s strictness as a monarch when she turned down his request to make his two daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice full-time working royals, so they would be funded from the privy council. Queen Elizabeth II denied Prince Andrew’s request, which left the latter furious especially after Prince Charles removed the Princesses of York from the payroll.
