On “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” anyone can be a star. It’s super easy to upload your family’s funniest moments for consideration on the ABC series.

Those who want to enter just need to go to the “AFV” website and click “Upload Now.” Users can submit a digital file along with a title and description. The show accepts files in a variety of formats, including .mpg, .wmv, .xvid, .mov and more. The following page will ask for your personal information and have you agree to the show’s terms of use.

If you found your clip on a VHS tape or just prefer snail mail, send the video to “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” P.O. Box 4333, Hollywood, CA 90078. Include a return address, email address, telephone number and a brief written description of the submission.

The show is looking for funny, original videos. That means they don’t want anything that’s copyrighted or a knock-off. They also don’t want you to edit the clip, so don’t add any fun music or graphics. Leave that to experts at ABC.

If the video has been uploaded to YouTube or another website, that’s O.K. “AFV” will likely just ask you to take it down if they want to show your video. Once you submit your video to them, you give the show ownership of the video.

Anyone can enter as long as they are at least 13 years old (minors need written consent from a guardian) and a resident of the U.S., the District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec). Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are deployed abroad and their families are also eligible for “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

Of course, the real reason people are sharing their hilarious home videos is the prize money. Every week, the in-studio audience votes for the winner. Third prize is $2,000 and second prize is $3,000. The first prize is $10,000 and a chance to compete against other first prize winners for the grand prize of $100,000.

Two winners will score $100,000 each season, but they also get the opportunity to compete with each other for a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The winner will get to take three guests on the 5-night vacation, which includes one night in the Cinderella Castle Suit in the Magic Kingdom.

“America’s Funniest Home Videos,” hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, airs Sundays at 7 p.m. EST on ABC.
