With the titular character of “Marvel’s Iron Fist” finally cast, fans can now start to wonder about everything else in the Netflix show. The first teaser image was released when Marvel confirmed reports that “Game of Thrones” star Finn Jones would portray Danny Rand. However, the picture confirms that another comic book character will be joining him.

It’s the person who is supposed to receive the note that is of interest: Joy Meachum. The woman might have a long history with Danny. After all, her father is responsible for the death of Danny’s father. While on a trip with Harold Meachum, Wendell Rand fell off a cliff and was hanging onto the ledge. Harold wanted Wendell’s shares in their company, so he didn’t bother helping his business partner.

Joy Meachum is the daughter of Harold. In the Marvel comics, Iron Fist is found next to the dead body of Harold Meachum, and Joy assumes that he killed her father, according to Marvel Database. She teams up with her uncle, Ward Meachum, to take out Iron Fist. No actress has been announced for the character yet.

The note in the image asks “Who is Danny Rand?” and marks the question as urgent. The answer is, of course, Iron Fist. However, that the question will be a theme of the season, executive producer Scott Buck revealed. “Danny Rand is a very complicated character,” Buck told Marvel. “He’s a billionaire New York Buddhist monk martial arts superhero who’s still trying to figure out what exactly that all means. Finn is able to play all these levels in such an honest, revelatory way that as soon as I saw him I knew he was our Danny.”

“Marvel’s Iron Fist” is expected to debut in 2017. The drama will be the fourth Marvel TV show on Netflix and completes the Defenders quartet. Iron Fist will eventually team up with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) for a “Defenders” mini-series. Though that team-up could still be a couple years away, there might be crossovers before then. After all, Marvel confirmed Iron Fist’s casting a day before “Daredevil” Season 2 debuts on Netflix. Fans will have to tune in to see if they get an early glimpse at Danny Rand.
