Robert Buckley as Major
Robert Buckley said that fans are going to see Major “kick some serious behind” in tonight’s Season 3, episode 5 of “iZombie.” The CW

Major (Robert Buckley) is going on his first real mission as a zombie mercenary in Season 3, episode 5 of “iZombie,” and while the former social worker is no stranger to action, it looks like his experience from this military operation isn’t something he will easily forget.

“[In the episode] we get to see Major kick some serious behind,” Buckley says in the “Inside iZombie” featurette for tonight’s installment. “But you know, [he also] gets himself kicked pretty good in the process.”

In one of the snippets included in the featurette, Major successfully takes one of their foes down by firing a rifle at him on a rooftop. But shortly thereafter, Major is attacked from behind by a rival soldier, receiving multiple stabs in his abdomen. But because Major is only injured in his stomach area, the new Fillmore-Graves employee is just fine after the brutal attack. Watch the shocking moment in the video below:

Also in the episode, Liv (Rose McIver) eats the brain of a dominatrix and starts manifesting the brain owner’s domineering and controlling traits. According to the synopsis for the installment, Liv’s new personality makes everyone around her a little uncomfortable, especially Clive (Malcolm Goodwin), whom she partners up with to look into the death of the brain owner.

While Liv ultimately ends up consuming the dominatrix’s brain, the trailer for the episode reveals that she initially has second thoughts about whether or not she should eat the brain. “I’m not putting that in my mouth. She was a dominatrix,” Liv tells her boss, Ravi (Rahul Kohli).

“You’ve already been in the bossy side. I don’t know why you didn’t even notice,” Ravi replies.

Executive producers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright first revealed that Liv is going to eat the brain of a dominatrix this season at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con in July. “Give the people what they want!” Thomas said (via TVLine) when asked why they decided to have Liv eat the brain of a dominatrix this season.

“Rose is good at everything. She’s going to be the best dom,” Ruggiero-Wright added at the time.

When asked how she would research for the role, McIver said, “I’m going to have to clear my browser history repeatedly.”

Also in tonight’s episode, Blaine (David Anders) and Peyton (Aly Michalka) find themselves having a heart-to-heart talk, probably about the future of their relationship in the event he gets his memory back.

In Season 3, episode 4, Peyton admitted to Blaine that she’s “so friggin’ attracted” to this “new version” of him — the one who doesn’t remember his criminal past. But on the other hand, Peyton also told him that she wants Liv and Major (Robert Buckley) to be humans again, so she wasn’t really sure whether or not she’s hoping for Ravi’s memory loss cure to work.

“iZombie” Season 3, episode 5, titled “Spanking the Zombie,” airs tonight at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
