Director James Cameron announced on Thursday that the 11 Oscar-winning epic romance film, Titanic, that captivated audiences worldwide in 1997 would be released in 3D version on April 6, 2012.

There's an entire generation that never saw 'Titanic' in theatres. This 'Titanic' will be something you have never seen before, digitally remodified at 4K resolution and painstakingly converted to 3D, Cameron publicized in a statement issued by distributors according to Reuters.

When released in 1997, the movie was the most expensive ever to be made with an estimated budget of $200 million and generating more than $1.8 billion in revenues.

No mention was made about never-before-seen scenes added to the upcoming 'Titanic 3D'. However what could be told so far as for the differences between this movie and the previous comes from Mr. Cameron's statement: With an intact strong emotional storyline and spectacular enhanced powerful images than ever, this should be an epic experience for all audiences.

The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet and won best picture and best director in addition to being ranked as the sixth best epic film of all time according to the American Film Institute.
