Jay Leno has been discharged after being hospitalized for nearly 10 days. The former "Tonight Show" host was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering serious burns in a gasoline fire after one of the cars in his garage burst into flames earlier this month.

A photo of the 72-year-old comedian posing with staff members of Grossman Burn Center, Los Angeles, surfaced online Monday. There are visible scars on Leno's chin and hands.

"After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay will receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest and hands he received during a fire at his home garage," the hospital said in a news release, People reported. "He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday."

Physician Dr. Peter Grossman, who treated the "Tonight Show" host, added he was "pleased" with Leno's progress and "optimistic that he will make a full recovery."

Grossman opened up about Leno's condition last week and said, "He's got a very strong attitude. He's a very strong individual. And he's a person who really is looking to move forward, to try to find a way to get past this episode of his life and entertain and be with the people."

Following his accident, Leno shared a statement: "I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet."

George Swift, who works at Leno's garage, revealed that it was a steam car. "This steam was made by gas. It got sprayed, as a gas," Swift said at the time. "[Leno] called me and he told me there was a fire and the fire department is coming."

On the work front, Leno has been doing his own show, "Jay Leno's Garage," since 2015. Previously, he worked on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" from 1992 to 2014.
