It appears that we may get some sort of reunion with the "Friends" cast. During "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Monday, actress Jennifer Aniston made an appearance announcing that there may not be a reboot for the show but gave fans hope for the next best thing.

It all started during Monday’s episode when host Ellen DeGeneres brought out Aniston to meet singer Charlie Puth knowing how much of a fan he was on the hit NBC series "Friends". As noted by EW, the former "Friends" cast member was talking on the topic of a possible return for the show, declaring that it’s not in the works. “Like a reboot of the show?” she asked. “No.”

What the actress did reveal on the show was that her former castmates are currently working on something together. “We would love for there to be something, but we don’t know what that something is,” Aniston said. “So we’re just trying. We’re working on something.”

The actress, who was currently promoting her new AppleTV+ series "The Morning Show," later joked that there would be a “huge, huge, huge movie” but later added that it was something that came up after the cast reunited recently.

The reason this was brought up was due to the cast reuniting a few weeks ago for dinner. Aniston posted a picture of the reunion on her Instagram on Oct. 15 to commemorate the occasion and share it with fans. Talking about catching up with her co-stars, Aniston explained that they “miss each other and we all happened to be in the same part of the world.”

The popular sitcom "Friends" originally ran from 1994 to 2004 for 10 seasons on NBC as part of their Thursday comedy line-up. Ever since the show ended, the cast had reunited on separate occasions. For now, most of the cast has already moved on to work on different projects over the years after the show concluded.

The show has gotten a bit of resurgence in recent years after being introduced to new fans after the entire series was available to stream on Netflix beginning in 2015. "Friends" will be on the move next year when the show relocates to WarnerMedia’s streaming service HBO Max.
