Rory Feek provided fans with another update on Joey Feek's battle with cancer, revealing that his wife is sadly nearing death. In an emotional post on the family's blog, the 49-year-old wrote that Joey's pain and discomfort has been getting worse.

“Here I sit beside my dying wife,” Rory wrote Saturday. “I don’t say those words lightly. As a matter of fact, I haven’t said them at all. But my beautiful bride has said them to me in these couple of days. Her pain and discomfort has continued to increase daily, and so has the morphine to help her be comfortable. The dosage she’s needed to keep the pain away has quadrupled in the last four days.”

Rory, who makes up the country singing duo Joey + Rory with his wife, said he wishes he could tell everyone that she's going to beat cancer.

“But I can’t. Yesterday with tears in her eyes and mine, Joey held my hand and told me that she has been having serious talks with Jesus,” he penned. “She said she told him that if He’s ready to take her… she’s ready to come home.”

As previously reported, Joey has been very open about her battle with cancer and has let her husband document her journey on the family blog.

In another update Jan. 5, the “Bible and a Belt” singer shared that the holidays were a little difficult for Joey even though she tried to put on a brave face.

“They say that at Christmastime emotions run high, and you feel more than you do the rest of the year,” he wrote. “I think that’s probably true. Though she managed a smile most of the time, Joey’s heart was heavy, and she was feeling some things she hadn’t before … A sadness. A fear of the unknown. And even some anger — not at God. Just at her situation I suppose."

Joey, 40, was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 4 cancer in May 2014, shortly after the birth of her daughter, Indiana. The singer decided to stop undergoing treatment in October after doctors told her it was no longer working. In November, Joey was admitted to home hospice care.
