On Monday night, MTV aired their annual VMAs, which celebrate artistry in the music world. Taylor Swift took home one of the night's biggest honors when she won video of the year for "You Need to Calm Down." However, actor and presenter John Travolta had a difficult time initially figuring out who the real Taylor was at the 2019 show as he almost presented the moonman to drag queen Jade Jolie.

Since the singer's video starred the "RuPaul's Drag Race" alum, the Taylor lookalike was in the group that accompanied the performer to the stage. After Taylor's name was announced, the songstress began to make her way to the front of the room, stopping along the way to hug various people. This afforded Jolie, who competed on Season 5 of "Drag Race," just enough time to make it to the stage first, which may have been what led to Travolta's confusion.

In the quick exchange, the "Pulp Fiction" star began to extend the award to Jolie. The moment resulted in the drag queen laughing as she seemingly realized his mistake immediately. After the fact, the competition show contestant Instagrammed the brief interaction herself, which can be seen below.

This, of course, would not be Travolta's first time making a mistake while presenting at an awards show as he famously referred to Idina Menzel as "Adele Dazeem" at the 2014 Oscars, a moment he himself referenced before last night's gaffe.
