1. Amber Heard allegedly assaulted Depp when she learned that he had lost millions

In 2016, Depp was told by his new business manager that he owed millions of dollars to the U.S. government in unpaid taxes.

"It was put to me this way, because I had no idea about money or amounts of money: Since Pirates [of the Caribbean] 2 and 3, I had – and this is ludicrous to have to state, it’s quite embarrassing – apparently I had made $650 million and when I sacked [the former business managers], for the right reasons, I had not only lost $650 million, but I was $100 million in the hole because they had not paid the government my taxes for 17 years," Depp said. After learning that Depp had lost $750 million, Heard allegedly punched him.

2. Depp revealed he began using drugs at a very young age

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor told the court that he began using drugs when he was a child.

He started using drugs "at a very young age, when it was not a particularly stable or secure or safe home life. My mother used to ask me to go and get her 'nerve pills' and I think I was around the age of 11 that it dawned on me that 'nerve pills' were calming her nerves, so I brought her her nerve pills and I took one and that began [my drug use]," he told the court.

3. Depp decided to end his marriage after finding out that Heard had defecated in his bed

Depp told the court that after Heard’s birthday in 2016, he found a pile of excrement in the marital bed. He decided to end his marriage following the disgusting incident.

"I understand that the following morning [after the party] Ms Heard (or possibly one of her friends) defecated in our shared bed. I resolved to divorce Ms Heard on that day," he told the court.

4. Depp was left with a severed finger after Heard allegedly threw a bottle at him

The actor said that during his trip to Australia, Heard threw a bottle at him, leaving him with a severed finger. He underwent surgery after returning to Los Angeles.

"Ms Heard threw that bottle at me as hard as she could from a fairly short distance. The bottle smashed against my hand, which was resting on the marble top of the bar, severing the top of my finger and fracturing multiple bones,” Depp claimed.
