Rumors which claimed Julia Roberts’ husband Danny Moder was furious over her friendship with “Homecoming” co-star Dermot Mulroney was proven false Monday.

Gossip Cop debunked the claim which was originally published in an article by Woman’s Day Australia. The original report claimed Moder was not happy about the two “cuddling up” on the red carpet, a rumor which was related to the two co-stars posing together for a selfie at the premiere of their new Amazon series.

The magazine went on to quote an alleged inside source who was unidentified to substantiate his or her claim.

“Julia and Dermot have insane chemistry. Although they insist they’ve always been good mates, people have wondered from time to time if the sparks between them could go beyond acting,” the source said.

The source went on to further claim Moder was upset about Mulroney praising Roberts during interviews.

“The fact that Dermot is always raving about Julia creeps Danny out,” the source said. “It doesn’t help that this is happening while they’re trying to get their marriage back on track.”

But as Gossip Cop pointed out, none of the claims were true. Roberts and Mulroney have co-starred in other productions like “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and “August: Osage County” before. The two have been friends for more than 20 years, the website said, adding Moder was not suddenly disturbed by his wife’s long-term friendship with her co-star.

Gossip Cop claimed the false rumors began because Roberts and Mulroney were starring in a new TV series. The truth was Mulroney was happily married and shared two daughters with his wife of 10 years, Tharita Cesaroni. The website also noted Moder was photographed having a friendly chat with Mulroney at the amfAR Gala in Los Angeles last year. This clearly shows the two were getting along well.

There were many reports about how the couple were “trying to get their marriage back on track” which was not true since they didn’t have a problem to begin with. In an interviewin the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Roberts opened up about having to live her life through the fake stories that come up in tabloids.

“For the most part,” she said when Oprah Winfrey asked her if she was able to keep her children away from all the gossip. “Sometimes we are in the grocery store and I won’t even know something is out, but we’ll see a tabloid and we’ll all be standing there like, ‘Oh, that’s uncomfortable. This is really uncomfortable.’”

“It can still hurt my feelings, because I’m so proud of my marriage,” she added. “We just celebrated being married for 16 years this Fourth of July, and there’s so much happiness wrapped up in what we’ve found together. What I like is when they write, ‘the $150 million divorce,’ and then a week later a different tabloid says, ‘the $275 million divorce.’ I’m like, “’ell, somebody got a paycheck in the last week. This is getting good.’”

This was not the only interview during which she talked about her good relationship with her husband.

“He truly, to this day, to this minute is just my favorite human,” she said in an interview on Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” podcast earlier this month. “We just really, really like each other and we just enjoy each other’s company.”
