Kate Middleton and Prince William exhibited a “subtly flirty” behavior on their recent outing.

Many noticed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have become more tactile lately. On Monday, Prince William and Middleton stepped out together to attend Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium.

According to body language expert Judi James, the couple was “subtly flirty.” James analyzed five moments between the couple including the time when Prince William placed a hand on Middleton’s back as they made their way to the venue.

“William and Kate aren’t known for their overt PDAs and they can keep their touch rituals to a minimum in public but this back-touch from William looks unusually tactile and affectionate,” James said.

“His smile looks almost shy here and the splayed hand appears gentle and gentlemanly, although that raised thumb suggests intense happiness.”

James pointed out that their gestures didn’t scream a “couple in love“ but there were plenty of subtle signs showing their intense close relationship.

Prince William and Middleton showed intense mirroring from their walk, wave and facial expressions, which suggested the “classic look of love.” James confirmed earlier that the Prince William and Middleton have been showing a “slow but steady” increase of PDA over the past years. The expert pointed out the various reasons why the couple has become more tactile.

According to James, it’s possible that Prince William and Middleton are taking the cues from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. It’s also possible that Prince William is showing more sweetness to his wife to show her that he appreciates her support amid his rumored rift with his younger brother Prince Harry.

Also, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been married for eight years already with three kids, so it’s possible that Prince William has relaxed a little bit and now uses touches and tie-signs to show his respect and love for his wife in public.

In related news, Markle was accused of attacking Middleton in a passive-aggressive manner. The royal fans alleged that the Duchess of Sussex seemingly wants to destroy the future queen consort’s character.
