Prince William gave Kate Middleton a special ring years before they got engaged.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge dated for almost a decade before they got engaged and eventually married. In fact, due to the long wait, many called Middleton “Waity Katie.”

However, unknown to many, the future king actually gifted Middleton a ring early on in their relationship. It was different from the blue sapphire engagement ring Middleton received from Prince William when he proposed to her.

According to Eddie LeVian, CEO of family-owned jewellers, Prince William gave Middleton a beautiful Victorian rose gold ring when they were still at St. Andrews University.

“This beautiful, delicate ring is understated in style, but the very personal message hidden within it from a future King makes it an enormously romantic royal jewel,” he told Express.

The ring is adorned with both Middleton and Prince William’s birthstones, which signifies a celebration of their bond and the beginning of their intertwined destiny. Prince William’s birthstone is pearl, which symbolizes love, purity, humility and innocence. Meanwhile, Middleton’s birthstone is garnet which signifies protection and promotes confidence and mental clarity.

Middleton rarely wears the accessory. However, she was photographed sporting it when she graduated in 2005.

“It’s no surprise Kate was seen wearing it at her graduation. This was a milestone marking her own achievements but also a day which put her on the threshold of a new chapter in her life together with William beyond university,” LeVian continued.

“Even though Kate graduated in 2005, and the couple married much later in 2011, this ring goes to prove that William was smitten with Kate even in those early days.”

Meanwhile, Middleton often hears from people around her that Prince Louis is her spitting image. She loves it and would often joke that in her three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, only their youngest looks like her.

Prince Louis celebrated her second birthday on April 21. Middleton canceled his birthday party because social gathering has been discouraged due to the coronavirus pandemic. Also, she released a new photo of the birthday boy.

Royal expert Angela Mollard was expecting to see a new photo of Prince Louis. According to her, the duchess often releases new snaps of her children on their birthdays.
