Twitter users slammed Kensington Palace for defending Kate Middleton but not Meghan Markle.

The palace released a statement regarding a report about the Duchess of Cambridge on Tatler. According to Kensington Palace, the "story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations."

Royal correspondent Richard Palmer also shared the palace’s response on Twitter.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aren’t happy about a piece on Kate in Tatler magazine,” he wrote. “Earlier, royal sources said a claim in the piece that Kate felt furious, exhausted and trapped after Harry and Meghan’s exit left her with a bigger workload was untrue.”

Palmer's post received various reaction from Twitter users. Several questioned why Kensington Palace released a statement about the issue but kept mum when the Duchess of Sussex was attacked by the media.

“Where was the outrage for Meghan??” @LAYUMI12 wrote.

“That they are officially commenting is the news story in itself, no?” @royalwessex commented.

“So Kensington Palace can come out and deny this story with ease and stories about Cather getting Botox but when the Sussex’s were under the KP umbrella, they were left to the wolves. I wonder what happened to that stiff upper lip?” @HRHLSA asked.

“It woud have been so human and considerate of them to have issued the same statements when the black duchess was abused for 3years none stop even when she was pregnant,” @nonawe82 added referring to those years when Markle faced non-stop negative headlines.

Some Twitter users defended the palace’s move, however. According to one, it was too much which is why the palace spoke up.

“Fair point. KP rarely comments on trashy news articles,” @TheRoyalCrownUK responded. “Kate’s been in tabloids since 2003-2004 & I can only think of a handful of times they’ve commented. Indicates how strongly they feel about the subject & the attack on Kate’s character.”

Another netizen also addressed the accusation that Kensington Palace never stood up for Markle. Twitter user Kayla Adams shared snaps of different headline when the palace denied false allegations against Markle.

“KP have released statements on Meghan, let’s not act like they’ve never spoken out. They can only speak out on things that are not true,” Adams wrote.

Many netizens also defended Prince William and Middleton for not speaking up for Markle. One said Markle has her husband, spokesperson and staff to speak in behalf of her.

Another added that Markle was a strong feminist, so she couldn’t understand why many thought Markle needed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to defend her.
