Kristen Stewart isn’t the only “Twilight” alum at Toronto International Film Festival. Robert Pattinson is also attending, so of course, the actress was asked about her ex’s latest role as Batman.

“I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part,” she told Variety. “I’m so happy for him. It’s crazy… I’m very, very happy about that. I heard that and I was like, ‘Oh man!’ Yeah, it’s awesome.”

Pattinson will play Bruce Wayne in “The Batman,” directed by Matt Reeves. Filming doesn’t have a start date yet, but the DC Comics adaptation is set to release on June 25, 2021.

This will be Pattinson’s return to the world of blockbuster franchises. He launched his career in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” as Cedric Diggory, but he became a household name starring alongside Stewart in the five-film “Twilight” franchise as Edward Cullen.

Since the series wrapped in 2012, both stars have opted to stick mostly with smaller features. Pattinson is at TIFF promoting his indie flick “The Lighthouse” while Stewart is there to sell her independent movie “Seberg.” However, she could be headed for a superhero franchise too.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Stewart recalled being told that she wouldn’t be able to land a role as a Marvel superhero if she was openly gay. She clarified in another Variety interview that she simply listed the company as a random example of “a big conglomerate-y type thing.”

“I’m sure they would love to hire the gay kids to be superheroes,” Stewart laughed. “I was in no way projecting the ideas of Marvel and the way that they hire their cast members.” Stewart has added that she’d love to play a gay superhero for the comic book giant.

For now, Stewart is stepping back into the franchise world with “Charlie’s Angels,” due out Nov. 15.
