Less than two months after a British poll named Kristen Stewart the “unsexiest” actress in Hollywood, the “Twilight” star topped another unwanted list Tuesday, winning the Reader’s Digest poll for America's least trusted celebrity.

The publication teamed with the Wagner Group, polling more than 1,000 Americans, who all voted the 23-year-old star as the least trusted person in the U.S. Researchers asked participants which public figures earned their confidence and had similar ideals to their own.

Stewart and Tom Cruise placed lowest on the list of 100 of America’s best-known public figures, with Stewart receiving the lowest trust score at 24 percent among all female movies stars tested. Cruise came in last place out of all male celebs, raking in only 27 percent, which researchers said was due to his ties to the controversial Church of Scientology.

Dorothy Crenshaw, CEO and creative director of Crenshaw Communications, said the public’s distrust of the young actress was due to her summer 2012 affair with her married “Snow White and the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders. The duo was caught by photographers kissing while Stewart was still involved with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson. Sanders was married to model Liberty Ross at the time.

“Kristen Stewart’s trust was damaged when she was unfaithful,” said Crenshaw.

Apparently, Universal Pictures still has enough faith in Stewart to invite her to star in the 2015 sequel to “Snow White and the Huntsman,” while replacing Sanders with a yet-to-be-identified director.

Sandra Bullock was the runner-up for the most trusted celebrity, behind Tom Hanks, the most trusted figure in America. Reader's Digest quoted the “Forest Gump” actor citing his 1960s upbringing as the key to his likeability.

“I think I’m very representative of many of the thought processes my generation has been through, and by and large, people of my age have had their imprint planted on the consciousness of Western society for a long time,” said Hanks.

Other notable well-known figures who placed on the most-trusted list include “Today” show host Matt Lauer (No. 87), Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos (78) and President Barack Obama (65).
