Is Limp Bizkit breaking up? According to Twitter, even though the mini-blogosphere is by no means a reliable source for news, the turn of the century rock band Limp Bizkit has broken up. As a result, the rumor has spewed Twitter users to unleash a heap of jokes about the band, mostly remarking on the fact that they though Limp Bizkit had broken up years ago.

Not surprisingly, the rumor has turned out to be false. Lead singer Fred Durst famous for his backwards red Yankee camp retweeted a post from the band's bassist, Wes Borland:

"RT@wesborland: LB has not called it quits. That article is insane. Thanks for your concerns, but we're all good over here." desperate mag lol," Durst said.

But the Twitter rumors didn't spew out of nowhere, some tweeters posted links to UPROXX and HipHopWired which all reported that Limp Bizkit had called it quits because of "Kerrang!" magazine's article.

They quoted Durst as saying:

"We don't play back home. We've boycotted America for many years now. I don't know, I just don't wanna go out like that. We did a few radio shows in 2010 for a friend and that was it. We haven't properly toured America since 2006."

"The reason? We just don't know what's going on in America. It's all about the new catchy thing and that's always changing. America is driven by record sales. It's the home of corporations. We're just Limp Bizkit, so we don't know how to do anything but Limp Bizkit."

"But here's the deal: say in 2000, there were 35 million people who connected to this band. Twelve years later, lots of those people have moved on. We were a moment in time and it's over."

It's all about the he said, she said, right?

It's been 12 years since Limp Bizkit has made an album. They reportedly signed with Hip-Hop label Cash Money Records earlier this year, but never put out an album.

Maybe the "break-up" rumor will help inspire the guys to produce a new record to quiet their naysayers.
