The rift between “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” stars Lisa Vanderpump and Brandi Glanville appears to have taken a turn for the worse. The pair were rumored to have fallen on the outs during filming of the newest season of the Bravo reality show, and according to show insiders, Glanville's desire to be in the spotlight has driven a wedge between them.

According to Radar Online, Vanderpump, 53, felt that Glanville’s behavior on a recent trip to Puerto Rico, during which she allegedly took the side of fellow housewife Yolanda Foster in an argument, officially crossed a line. “[Lisa] can’t believe how Brandi has betrayed their friendship and trust,” a source told the gossip website.” After Glanville, 40, tried to pin the blame on Vanderpump for confronting fellow housewife Kyle Richards about allegations her husband had cheated on her, it was the end of their once very close friendship.

The source continued, adding that Glanville’s dissatisfaction with her own love life -- she is a frequent fixture in the tabloids for her social media fights with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian and his new wife, LeAnn Rimes -- had created tension and bitterness between her and Vanderpump.

“Brandi has made no secret about how jealous she is of Lisa’s over the top lifestyle, beautiful mansion and happy marriage … she is now out to make Lisa look bad in hopes that she will get more camera time. It’s all about Brandi, 24/7, and sadly, Lisa is now recognizing that,” the source said.

Glanville initially addressed the alleged feud on her own Twitter account, acknowledging that the pair had hit a rough patch, but saying it was no more than that.

In response to a follower who wrote, “I can’t believe @BrandiGlanville & @LisaVanderpump are no longer friends ): crying already [sic],” Glanville shot back, “We are not, not friend [sic] I love her we are having a bump in our road.”

But the Radar source claimed it was more than a simple “bump in the road,” suggesting that Glanville deliberately started drama with her former pal out of concern that her story line was starting to get dull. “Brandi knew that viewers were growing tired of her constant moaning about the fact Eddie cheated on her with LeAnn Rimes,” the source said. “She was beginning to sound like a broken record. So, Brandi obviously made a decision to try and make Lisa look bad in front of the cameras.”

Glanville herself followed up those rumors by implying that Vanderpump had selfishly exploited Scheana Marie -- the woman with whom Cibrian had cheated on her with and who also works at a restaurant Vanderpump owns -- for publicity. In a recent column for Australia’s NW Magazine, Glanville aired her grievances with the British restaurateur, writing, “You might have heard some stuff about Lisa and I having a bit of a tiff ... I found out some unsettling things about her using me to get this Scheana girl, the girl Eddie cheated on me with, publicity.”

“I really trusted Lisa,” Glanville wrote. “I’ll always love her, but I want an apology. I feel like I was becoming her sidekick and I needed to find me again.”
