A 45-year-old man in Kentucky is accused of sexually assaulting and raping a teenager on multiple occasions over the course of a few months.

Michael G. Ozepy of Burlington was arrested on multiple counts of rape and sodomy, Sheriff Michael A. Helmig with the Boone County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday. Deputies from the sheriff's office launched an investigation after receiving a report Friday about the sexual assault, according to WLWT.

The teenage victim said Ozepy had sexually assaulted her multiple times since September this year. She also said she was assaulted the day right before the sheriff's office was called.

Ozepy is also accused of plying the victim with alcohol and marijuana before raping her inside his home.

"The victim identified Michael G. Ozepy, 45 of Burlington as the perpetrator. The investigation revealed that Ozepy would provide the victim with alcohol and marijuana on multiple occasions before raping and/or sodomizing her," read the sheriff's office statement posted on Facebook.

Officials noted that the victim's family personally knew Ozepy. The man eventually confessed to investigators about the sexual crimes against the teenager, LOCAL 12 reported.

"The crimes occurred at Ozepy's home in Burlington and continued up to a day before the victim disclosed on November 25th," the police statement said. "The victim is an extended family member to Ozepy, and he made admissions regarding the rape during the course of the investigation."

Ozepy was arrested Monday from his home and charged with three counts of rape, three counts of sodomy, and two counts of unlawful transaction with a minor.

An unrelated incident was reported this week after an Indian man was accused of raping his 15-year-old daughter multiple times over the span of three years. The incident came to light after the teenager filed a complaint with the police and said her father raped her whenever her mother was out of the house. The teenager suffered in silence for years because her father, who worked as a carpenter, threatened to kill her or throw her out of the house.
