A 43-year-old man was shot in the head in Florida during a road rage incident earlier this month, and authorities are searching for the suspect.

The victim, whose name has not been disclosed, was rushed to Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida, after a bullet grazed his forehead on Oct. 13, WFLA reported, citing the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The victim was a passenger in a truck that was heading west on I-4 near I-275 at around 7:30 p.m. that day.

At some point, the driver of the truck began arguing with the driver of a Mercedes next to him.

The driver of the Mercedes then pulled out a gray handgun and fired a single shot at the truck, according to FHP. The shot grazed the truck passenger's forehead.

The truck driver, his 35-year-old coworker from Clearwater, Florida, rushed the victim to the hospital.

The alleged shooter continued onto I-275 northbound, according to authorities.

When they checked the truck, the FHP found several bullet fragments inside.

Troopers described the suspect as a Hispanic man who is approximately 28 to 35 years old, is bald and has a thin mustache and medium build. He was also reportedly wearing aviator sunglasses at the time of the incident.

The suspect's car is a gray two-door Mercedes with factory wheels and windows that are not tinted, according to authorities.

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the help of the public for information related to the case.

Those with information are encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol by calling 813-558-1800 or *FHP. They may also contact Crime Stoppers at **TIPS or online at Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay.

Earlier this month, two men allegedly fired into each other's vehicles on a busy Florida highway and wounded each other's daughters, who were passengers in their back seats, Tampa Bay Times reported.

William Hale, of Douglasville, Georgia, and Frank Allison, of Callahan, Florida, were charged last week with attempted second-degree murder in the Oct. 8 confrontation on Highway 1 in Nassau County in Florida's northeastern corner.

A witness told Nassau County sheriff's deputies that the two cars engaged in a "cat and mouse" chase so he called the authorities and reported it out of concern.

Hale's daughter suffered a wound to her upper calf, while Allison's daughter suffered a collapsed lung, according to the report.
