New details about “The Mandalorian” Season 2 have leaked online that reveal the identity of a mysterious character who was introduced in the first season. When a bounty hunter walked close to a dead body in the desert, everyone assumed that it was Boba Fett. However, a new report has revealed a new twist to this mysterious character.

The following article contains spoilers of “The Mandalorian” Season 2.

Sources close to the TV series told Slash Film recently that Timothy Olyphant will be wearing Boba Fett’s armor on the show this year. The actor will not be playing the role of the infamous bounty hunter because Temuera Morrison will be returning to the franchise to play that role. Olyphant will be playing a new character named Cobb Vanth, who is a self-appointed sheriff of Freetown on the planet Tatooine.

Cobb Vanth is a character in the “Aftermath” book series. Why is he wearing Boba Fett’s armor? According to insiders, the character will be able to buy the outfit from Jawas, who took it from Jabba’s sail barge after the bounty hunter was thrown into the Sarlacc Pit.

What does Cobb’s introduction in “The Mandalorian” Season 2 mean for Boba Fett? According to Bespin Bulletin, it is possible that the veteran bounty hunter will get a new armor after crawling out of the Sarlacc Pit. Since Cobb will wear the old armor, Boba may also appear without his helmet on the show.

Cobb wearing Boba Fett’s old armor also sets up a possible confrontation between the two characters. Will the bounty hunter kill the self-appointed sheriff to reclaim his armor? Killing a man who has been protecting a town should help setup Boba as the anti-hero on the show.

Season 2 will also introduce some characters from the “Clone Wars” animation series. There have been rumors that Captain Rex will be a part of the show and it has already been confirmed that Rosario Dawson will be playing the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano. Bo-Katan Kryze will also be back and the role will be played by Katee Sackhoff, Collider reported.

‘The Mandalorian” Season 2 will be released in October on Disney+.
