Mariah Carey is overwhelmed after the resurgence of her 2008 album “E=MC².”

On Monday (April 27), the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer received an early Christmas gift, her album from 12 years ago reached the no. 1 spot on the U.S. iTunes. The success also started the hashtag “#JusticeForEMC2.”

“E=MC²” was Carey’s 11th studio album. It was released in the United States on April 15, 2008 with 14 tracks. She began recording for the album in 2007.

“How should we celebrate #JusticeForEMC2? I want to do a singing moment for you! Which song?” she wrote on Twitter.

Carey’s post garnered different feedbacks from her followers, with her fans requesting for different songs.

“SING LOVE STORY,” @justicexlambily wrote.

Meanwhile, others were requesting for songs like “For the Record,” “I Wish You Well” and “Bye Bye.”

Carey’s fans also celebrated the resurgence of her 2008 album with her. Some even called Carey the “Queen of comeback.” Others called her a “legend.” Meanwhile, many just commented “wow” on the “Touch My Body” hitmaker’s account. One follower also praised Carey for her “longevity” in the music industry.

Many said that the songs were great, but the album was underrated. One fan claimed that it lacked promotion because Carey was busy at the time with her ex-husband Nick Cannon.

“Only lambs [k]now why this album is so underrated. so many hits that could’ve became No.1 after leading single ‘Touch My Body.’ She was unstoppable in that era, but Mimi met Nick while shooting music video for this album and got married with him instead of promoting this masterpiece,” @Toniway3 commented.

Meanwhile, Carey serenaded the frontliners online on Good Friday by singing her hit song “Hero.”

“We are united in this effort and in this moment,” she said in her tribute. “I want to take this time to acknowledge and honor the sacrifices of those who work everyday taking care of their communities,” she added and called them “the heroes who are making our daily lives possible.”
