In a speech at the New York Young Republicans Club gala Saturday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., told the audience that if she and former Donald Trump political strategist Steve Bannon planned the Capitol Riots that "we would have won," and "it would've been armed."

"Then Jan. 6 happened. And next thing you know, I organized the whole thing, along with Steve Bannon here. And I will tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I had organized that, we would have won. Not to mention, it would've been armed," Greene said.

Greene has been an ardent supporter of Trump, defending his 2020 efforts to overturn the election. She was questioned this year by the Jan. 6 House select committee for her role in the efforts to incite violence and overturn legal election results. Her Twitter account has a pinned tweet that reads, "RT if you still have @realDonaldTrump's back!"

Greene claimed that rioters went to the Capitol unarmed, even though many Trump supporters who were present for the attack were armed. Leaders Stewart Rhodes and Kelly Meggs of the right-wing militia group The Oath Keepers were found guilty of seditious conspiracy by the Jan. 6 committee this year.

"See that's the whole joke, isn't it? They say that whole thing was planned and I'm like, 'Are you kidding me?' A bunch of conservatives, second amendment supporters, went in the Capitol without guns, and they think that we organized that?" Greene stated.

The White House on Monday condemned the violent statements by Greene.

"It goes against our fundamental values as a country for a Member of Congress to wish that the carnage of January 6th had been even worse, and to boast that she would have succeeded in an armed insurrection against the United States government," White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement.

Greene appeared on Fox News on Monday and said that "the White House needs to learn how sarcasm works."

Greene received an award at the 110th annual gala, although she talked little of her own legislative agenda and rather took time to further disseminate conspiracy theories and violent rhetoric against Democrats. She posted several clips of her speech on Twitter in which she called the Justice Department and FBI "corrupt," saying they "serve the Democrat's agenda."

Greene also called for Biden's impeachment, saying she has already filed "seven or eight" articles of impeachment against him "over the past two years."

"While I don't want to impeach a president for political reasons, I definitely think Joe Biden should be impeached," Greene told gala attendees. She cited "invasion" of the border, selling of petroleum reserves to China, and being the "best business partner the cartels have ever had" as reasons for his impeachment.

Gavin Wax, president of the New York Young Republicans Club, echoed a similar sentiment at the five-hour event, telling the audience that Republicans "want total war" against the left.

"We want to cross the Rubicon. We want total war. We must be prepared to do battle in every arena. In the media. In the courtroom. At the ballot box. And in the streets," Wax said.

"This is the only language the left understands. The language of pure and unadulterated power," he added.

Several campaign groups have attempted to stop Greene from taking office, citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment which prohibits those who "engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same [United States], or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof" from serving in the government.

In May, a Georgia judge struck down an effort to bar Greene from the ballot, citing "insufficient evidence."

Many on Twitter slammed Greene for her recent comments.

Greene won her re-election campaign in November and will serve in the new 118th Congress which convenes on Jan. 3.
