The “Married at First Sight” couples are relying on each other for support during the Lifetime reality show. In Season 7, episode 8, which premieres Tuesday, the husbands will gather to chat about their marriages with Pastor Cal Roberson. In a sneak-peek video, Dave Flaherty reveals that he isn’t sure Amber Martorana can be a support system for him.

In the clip, exclusive to International Business Times, Dave tells the guys and Cal that he gives his wife a 7.5 rating. “It’s been so easy and natural, but she’s been stressed out and that’s kind of created some, not tension between us, but just tension in general,” he explains.

Cal questions what causes the stress, and Dave vaguely references her insecurities. Viewers will recall that Amber made it clear last week that she knows her husband has a preference for brunettes, and she’ll never look like his celebrity crush, Jessica Biel. That might be causing unnecessary stress for the “MAFS” couple.

“And then I have to constantly be that support system,” Dave adds. “I haven’t needed it yet, but there’s almost a sense of like, ‘What if I have a bad day?’ But that’s what I’m worried about.”

He is asked if Amber can comfort him if he goes through a rough patch, and Dave isn’t so sure. “Can she? Yeah, I don’t know. It hasn’t been tested yet,” Dave says.

It’s clear that Amber and Dave have a lot to discuss as they adapt to married life. However, that 7.5 rating won’t stay between the guys. When Amber learns her rating, she’ll have even more insecurities, especially when she realizes that other husbands gave their wives higher scores.

Elsewhere in this week’s “Married at First Sight,” Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally are still having major struggles with trust, and they will meet with multiple experts to try and work on their issues. Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd, meanwhile, are figuring out day-to-day life as a married couple.

“Married at First Sight” Season 7, episode 8 airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime. Fans can tune in at 8:30 p.m. EDT to see Season 1 participant Jamie Otis get the inside scoop from the spouses and experts on “Unfiltered.”
