Marvel Studios has apparently decided to continue working with Jeremy Renner on future Marvel Cinematic Universe installments, starting with the “Hawkeye” Disney+ series, despite recent allegations.

The Independent reports that in spite of rumors the studio "considered options" in regards to recasting the superhero role, Disney "bosses have decided against the idea and will permit Renner to appear in future Marvel films."

The allegations against Renner stem from his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco. The 28-year-old alleged in legal documents, first released by TMZ earlier this month, that he used drugs and threatened to kill her and himself. The two are currently enduring a lengthy custody battle over their 6-year-old daughter, Ava.

Renner, 48, has denied these claims and called his ex's declaration "a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind."

Pacheco has also complained multiple times that Renner keeps guns on him and that makes her feel unsafe. According to Renner’s lawyer, she has allegedly "grossly doctored" a photo of him carrying a shotgun around the house.

Renner maintains that his ex-wife is mentally unstable and has been out to get him since 2015 when he told her he had no interest in continuing their relationship. However, a nanny and an old friend of Renner both corroborate Pacheco's story.

According to the nanny, Naomi Moore, Renner has allegedly threatened violence in the past and once fired off his gun into the ceiling while his daughter was home. Renner later informed her that he had fired the gun because of her.

According to Moore, he said to her: “Do you think if my blood and brains are all over my bedroom floor, do you think you would be living this lifestyle in this mansion?”
