Meghan Markle wanted to become the “most famous person on Earth,” claims royal biographer Lady Colin Campbell.

The 71-year-old told Graham Norton on his Radio 2 morning show that Markle deliberately ignited controversies even before “Megxit.”

Campbell said that she turned her attention to the Sussexes after learning that the former “Suits” star was allegedly “getting up to all sorts of things in America that she was strictly forbidden from doing as a royal.”

“Mostly Meghan, but with Harry’s connivance,” Campbell claimed, adding that Markle is meddling in politics.

“And also instructing her PR people that they were to make her into the most famous person on Earth. And it has to involve a tremendous amount of controversy — otherwise you’re just not that famous,” she continued.

The royal author added that even she bit into the campaign, hence her book “Meghan and Harry: The Real Story.” Furthermore, Campbell alleged that Prince Harry and Markle made an attempt to “influence the narrative through mutual friends” when she began writing her book.

“I think it’s history in the making, and I don’t care if she ends up being the most famous person on Earth or not. I [just] care that there is an interesting story to be told,” Campbell claimed of Markle.

“Harry, on Meghan’s behalf, got a great friend of his to sell me a load of rubbish about Meghan and her relationship with her father. I completely erupted because I knew it was completely untrue,” she continued.

This is not the first time Campbell has criticized Markle. The biographer earlier claimed that the Duchess of Sussex was trying to fill the shoes of Princess Diana, Prince Harry’s late mother.

Campbell also accused Markle of being the reason behind her and Prince Harry stepping down from the royal family.

“I believe that if Harry had married anyone else, he would still be a member of the royal family and I believe Meghan’s ambition was always to outshine Diana,” the biographer told New Magazine in July.

“Meghan’s ambition has always been to outshine Diana, but I think she’s gravely misread the situation. She thought sheer hype would get her into LA, where she could become the great star she always wanted to be,” she added.
