Meghan Markle is reportedly finding it hard not to comment on the drama involving her father, Thomas Markle.

According to an insider close to the Duchess of Sussex, she is "overwhelmed" with the rules of the the palace. Fortunately, the palace has been supportive of her. The source also revealed the most frustrating part for Markle in terms of joining the royal family.

The insider told Us Weekly that the "most frustrating" part for the new duchess is "not being able to comment" on the issues involving her dad. When Markle officially became a royal, everything had to go through the palace.

"She's essentially not able to prevent these kind of stories. Now, everything has to go through official Palace," the insider explained. "She doesn't have her own publicist, she can't make any comments on Twitter and she can't reach out to him to tell him to stop speaking to the press. Her father's comments have an effect on everything."

Markle's father has not talked to her for the longest time. In fact, according to Thomas, he fears that he will die without speaking to his daughter again. According to an insider, the new royal wants to talk to her dad but fears that he might leak their conversation.

Thomas had been quiet for over a year since Prince Harry and Markle started dating. However, he landed on the cover pages of the tabloids when he agreed to stage his photos and received cash for it in the run-up of the royal wedding.

Just days before Prince Harry and Markle exchanged "I do's," Thomas announced that he would not be attending the event because he just got a major heart surgery. However, according to an insider, he just made up the story to have a good reason not to attend the event following his photo scandal.

"The whole story about Meghan's father undergoing heart surgery was made up," the insider said. "He had to come up with a good enough reason not to attend her wedding and avoid any further embarrassment after those staged photos went public."

"It was really just such poor judgment on his part. Now everyone's feeling sorry for him. They shouldn't. He brought this upon himself and if he were truly sick Meghan would have made an effort to visit him. Don't feel sorry for him. If anything, feel sorry for Meghan," the source added.
