Now known all around the world as a future royal, it can sometimes be hard to remember that Meghan Markle was once just an actress enjoying her career and the people she met along the way. For two of the people she met though, her Hallmark Channel costume designers Tina Fiorda and Rafaella Rabinovich, memories of their time with the star are easy to recall.

“‘Dater’s Handbook,’ which is the Meghan Markle one, was actually my first Hallmark and it was a fantastic experience because it was my first Hallmark,” Rabinovich told International Business Times of one of the reasons she clearly remembers this period in her life.

While this was the designer’s first Hallmark film, it was actually Markle’s second, and last, one. Her first flick on the network was “When Sparks Fly” in 2014, which she worked on with Fiorda as the costumer.

Both designers worked closely with the actress to best plan out which outfits she’d wear in the films, making sure they worked for her, the producers and the movies as a whole.

“She was lovely,” Rabinovich said to IBT. “She was really great, we worked together on her look and we were all happy with it.”

As for Fiorda, what she remembers of Markle was that she “was so easygoing and great to work with” on the set of their Hallmark movie.

“She was just such a sweet person,” Fiorda said. “She was wonderful to work with. I had fun working with her and I had fun doing that project…I couldn’t say anything other than how wonderful she was, and how thrilled I am for her.”

While Rabinovich herself doesn’t “specifically” follow news of the royal couple and their upcoming wedding, she, too, is “happy to hear that [Markle’s] doing well.” The costumer only wishes the best for this “very kind and very smart” actress, as Markle had always been nothing but sweet to her. The star even helped give the designer one of her “most memorable birthdays.”

“It was actually my birthday and her and Kristoffer Polaha were the people who I spent my birthday with,” Rabinovich said.

After a long day on set for her birthday, the costumer decided to go out to grab a drink with one of her friends who was assisting on the movie. Polaha, who was one of Markle’s romantic co-stars in the movie and “one of the nicest people in Hollywood if you ask” Rabinovich, joined the costumer for a quick drink before suggesting the group grab sushi and invite Markle.

“We ended up going to sushi in front of their hotel and Meghan came out and we had a really great dinner,” Rabinovich said. “And it’s actually one of my best memories from Vancouver because at the time I wasn’t fully living in Vancouver yet.”

With the experience of helping others have their most memorable birthday under her belt, Markle’s ready to kick it up a notch and help the whole world have their most memorable royal wedding experience in May.
