Meghan Markle's mom, Doria Ragland, is expected to spend her Christmas break with the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth II invited the Duchess of Sussex's mother to spend time with them this holiday season. According to Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, Ragland's British vacation will be filled with funny presents, afternoon teas and delightful meals.

"After her luggage is unloaded, there will be a present-giving ceremony after tea," Seward told Grazia magazine (via Express). "There are mainly useful things, such as homemade jams, china or curios bought from county fairs."

"Then it will be lethal martinis and a black-tie dinner," the royal expert added. "There's a really careful old-fashioned placement. It's always boy-girl, boy-girl."

On Christmas Day, Ragland will join the royal family to church for the 11 a.m Christmas service. They will then return to the castle for a traditional lunch featuring turkey and Christmas crackers.

They will also watch the Queen's televised speech that will aim at "making room for more food." The royals will take part in a Christmas tea followed by a short nap or resting period. The day will end with the members of the Firm sharing another luxurious meal.

The royals also practice this surprising tradition of weighing the guests on an antique scale when they arrive at the royal palace and shortly before they leave. They do this to check if they gain some kilos during their stay because Her Majesty wants to ensure that her guests are "well fed."

This is the first time that Queen Elizabeth II would be inviting her grandson's mother-in-law to a special Christmas dinner. In fact, Her Majesty hasn't invited Middleton's parents yet. According to a source, the Queen is doing this for the pregnant royal as she has no other family member in London.

"It's a mark of the Queen's respect for Meghan and an acknowledgment that she doesn't have any other relations in this country - unlike Kate who has the support of a very close family," a source said.

Earlier, there were reports claiming that Ragland was taking granny lessons at a parenting center in Los Angeles. The reports made headlines weeks before Prince Harry and Markle announced that they were expecting their first baby.

Markle reportedly wanted her mom to be a "live-in nanny." However, while Ragland is expected to spend more time with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after the royal baby arrives, she won't be taking care of the newborn full-time.
