Michelle Trachtenberg may by a dark presence in the Upper East Side world of Gossip Girl, but her pale skin almost snagged her a role in the Twilight series.

There was definitely interest here and there because there's so few pale girls in Hollywood, Michelle recently told Us Weekly.

When asked why Nikki Reed, Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene got leading female parts instead of her, she passed it off as conflicts with schedules.

The 26-year-old actress has no regrets about passing up the film.

I already have Buffy, she added. I've already done the vampire thing.

Although Trachtenberg did not mention which role she may have played, there are a number of other young stars who auditioned for roles in the multi-million dollar film franchise, according to Next Movie, including High School Musical Star Vanessa Hudgens and Winter's Bone star Jennifer Lawrence.
