Over the past year, new information has continued to emerge surrounding the May 24, 2019, disappearance of Jennifer Dulos. Now, law enforcement officials who have assisted the ongoing case are speaking out about what they believe the future could hold as the investigation surrounding the New Canaan, Connecticut, resident continues.

Throughout the past year, suspicion has surrounded both Jennifer's estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, and his former girlfriend, Michelle Troconis. Prior to his Jan. 30 death by suicide, both Fotis and Troconis faced a variety of charges linked to the ongoing case. However, as discussed during the new "Dateline" episode, the focus remains on Fotis as the search continues.

For the upcoming episode, which will air on July 20, NBC correspondent Dennis Murphy sat down with several people involved in Dulos investigation to discuss new steps that could be taken to determine the mother of five's whereabouts.

In his first network interview, Sergeant Kenneth Ventresca, the lead investigator in the case, stated that they have an interest in following every lead that passes through their office as they continue their efforts to locate Jennifer.

"We're going to search everything and anything," Ventresca said in a preview, adding that they are also open to following up with people who may call solely about a suspicion they have.

"If someone calls us and says 'Hey, I think I might have saw Fotis on my property last year. Can you guys just come take a look?' Sure, we'll come out. Absolutely," the official elaborated before telling Murphy that he believes Jennifer will eventually be found.

"We're still actively investigating. We still have a lot of stuff we are doing, and I'm confident that we are going to find her," he concluded.

Additionally, Connecticut Chief State’s Attorney Richard Colangelo also spoke to the NBC true crime show about what he believes could have occurred.

"I have theories, I have ideas. There's a lot of property up there that Mr. Dulos owns," Colangelo said.

The new discussion follows a string of other developments that have taken place surrounding the Dulos case in recent months. Not only was a piece of property connected to Fotis searched for a second time with a K-9 unit in June, but his estate was ordered to pay Jennifer's mother, Gloria Farber, $2M due to the fabrication of evidence. Additionally, his former attorney, Norm Pattis, also revealed that he will no longer be discussing the case.

As for Troconis, she was recently banned from retrieving personal items from the Jefferson Crossing home she once shared with Fotis and her lawyer, Jon Schoenhorn, discussed the status of the case as well.

This episode of "Dateline," called "The Day Jennifer Disappeared," will air July 20 at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
