The mother of Makayla Norman, the 14-year-old girl who weighed 28 pounds when she died last year, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other charges Friday.

Angela Norman, 42, appeared before the Ohio Judge Mary Katherine Huffman, who set sentencing for April 24.

Norman was charged with involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and two counts of endangering children, one for Makayla and one for her sister.

Norman's oldest daughter was 17 when she was removed from the home after Makayla's death.

Makayla, who had cerebral palsy, was covered in bedsores, living in filth and looked like a skeleton, when she died March 1, 2011.

The coroner's office determined that she died from nutritional and medical neglect complicated by her chronic condition, according to The Associated Press. A coroner's official said she was the worst malnourished child this office has ever seen.
