Jill Wagner’s Professor Amy Winslow and Kristoffer Polaha’s Detective Travis Burke have another case on their hands when “Mystery 101: Dead Talk” premieres on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Sunday.

Directed by Winnifred Jong and written by John Christian Plummer and Jim Biederman, the new Hallmark mystery flick centers on an accidental death that might not have been an accident after all.

“Amy heads to the big city to give an address as part of a TEDTalk-style lecture series run by Amy’s ex from grad school, Tim Bishop (Matthew James Dowden),” the synopsis shares. “When one of her fellow speakers, a genius inventor, is killed in a freak accident, Amy suspects foul play. But the local cops shut her out of the investigation so she calls upon Travis to help, and he is quick to suspect Tim (but Travis may have other reasons for not liking the man).”

The synopsis continues: “After Amy and Travis discover the dead man was an informant in a corporate espionage case, Amy knows why the cops stonewalled her. She and Travis sniff out a motley collection of potential killers, including a corporate CEO, a trust fund kid, and the dead man’s wife. Amy will prove that you can take the crime-solver out of the small town, but that’s not going to stop her from solving crimes.”

The Hallmark movie’s cast also includes Robin Thomas (Graham Winslow), Preston Vanderslice (Bud), Sarah Dugdale (Claire), Amanda Wong (Holly), Tegan Moss (Rachel Knox), Garrett Black (Billy Poole), Mark Krysko (Mitchell McHale), Donna Benedicto (Larissa McHale), Benjamin Wilkinson (Ray Sweeney), Catherine Lough Haggquist (Vicky Lin), Lochlyn Munro (Detective Denny Roma), Isaiah Lehtinen (Owen) and Edwin Perez (Guillermo).

“Mystery 101: Dead Talk” premieres on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT.
