A man was freed from the confines of a wall in a Syracuse theater on Friday. After banging and cries of help were heard from within, firefighters were called at about 7:30 local time as they slashed through the theater’s walls and found him naked, local media said.

Through a statement made on Facebook, the Syracuse Fire Department said that they were unclear on how he had gained access behind the wall.

“It is believed that the person, an adult male, entered the theatre 2-3 days ago,” they said.

Local news outlet Syracuse.com has stated that Landmark Theater director Mike Intaglietta said the man was seen roaming throughout the building earlier in the week.

"I don't know if he was entering to keep warm or to use the bathroom. I don't know," Intaglietta said.

He is currently being treated at Upstate University Hospital. As of now, there are no updates to his current condition.
